Era: WWII era (circa 1930-1950)
Condition: good; minor losses to embroidery; suitable for both wear and display
Measurements (with garments laying flat):
   Across top: 27″
   Length: 23″
Additional Notes: Typical back apron skirt from Moravia called a “sorc”. Made of finely pleated black cotton cloth with smocking embroidery across the top. These back skirts were worn together with a wide apron on the front that covered the side flaps, leaving just a narrow section of the back exposed when worn with the full folk costume (this section was often further covered by embroidered ribbons completely concealing the garment). An example of this type of folk dress from Maratice is shown above, but this skirt could be from many different villages in the Oztrozsko region.
