Condition: very good; minor wear; small repaired tear under right underarm; suitable for both wear and display

Additional Notes: This type of vest shows the influence of urban dress and became popular in Bulgaria around WWI. In the subsequent decades its popularity spread throughout the country and replaced more traditional regional vests in a number of regions. Made of black velvet and decorated with hand-guided machine embroidery.
