Origin: Ottoman Empire
Era: 19th century (pre-1900)
Condition: very good; normal light aging/wear; suitable for both wear and display
Measurements: approximately 4″ wide x 5″ tall
Additional Notes: Such belt boxes were used throughout the Ottoman empire including in Greece, Macedonia, Turkey, and Albania. Worn by men both with military uniforms and as an element of regional folk costume. Appears to be all original. Wonderful patina and fully functional lid that closes tightly.
