Measurements: approximately 18″ across bobbin lace at front
Additional Notes: Masterfully embroidered using silk threads with exquisite handmade linen bobbin lace trim along the front and inserted down the middle and back. Includes a contemporary yellow ribbon bow on the back that you can remove/replace. While based on the regional style of Piestany, such pieces were worn throughout Czechoslovakia to support the nationalist movement for an independent state at the turn of the 19th century. A unique survivor demonstrating the intersection of art, fashion and politics in pre-industrial Europe.
