Additional Notes: This style of vest was popular in and around the city of Lviv in western Ukraine and was often incorporated into a type of ‘national costume’ even by people who did not wear folk dress on a daily basis. Made of blue velvet with large embroidered flowers and decorated with small glass beads and sequins. The reference image above shows a woman wearing a similar vest from western Ukraine.
