Additional Notes: Traditional style vest from the village of Hrusov in southern Slovakia. By the mid 20th century this region developed a rather unusual style where the vests were made somewhat small and then fastened by long loops in the front. The reference image above shows a woman in this type of vest with the loops visible in the front. If desired, the loops can be made smaller or removed entirely if you wish to wear it fully closed. The measurements above are with the vest both fully closed (16.5″ across) and with the loop extenders (17.5″ across).
