Additional Notes: Elegant pleated skirt from the village of Unin in the Zahorie region in northwestern Slovakia. This is a particularly nice example intended for Sunday and festive wear – not everyday clothing. Made of green embossed velvet with wide ecru ribbon around the middle. Not pleated or embellished on the front as this area would be covered by an apron. This style of skirt was also worn in a couple of the surrounding villages including Radimov and Kovalovec.
