Additional Notes: Authentic woman’s Bunad from Sunnmore (Sunnmorsbunad). This Bunad is called the “Marthabunaden” after Crown Princess Martha received one as a wedding gift in 1929. This specific Bunad was brought back from Norway in the 1950’s and was likely made around that time. Made from fine dark blue wool with multi-color embroidery. The previous owner noted that they wore a US woman’s size 12-14 when this fit them, but please go by the measurements above to ensure a proper fit. There are minor condition issues and alterations that are very common with vintage Bunad that are traditionally passed down through the family and altered as needed. A remarkable ensemble that is sure to become a cherished family heirloom that will last many generations with proper care.
