Origin: Slovakia | Liptov region | Vychodna village
Era: Turn of the century (circa 1890-1910)
Condition: good; wear to velvet in underarm area; suitable for both wear and display
Measurements (with garment laying flat):
Across front: 17″ between underarms (there is a tuck on the side that can be let out 1″)
Additional Notes: A stunning woman’s vest from the village of Vychodna made of incredibly beautiful green and gold velvet fabric. Closes down the front with six glass buttons (none are missing, this is the traditional spacing style) and decorated with two yellow ribbon bows on the back, which are likely a later replacement. Masterfully sewn with attention to detail. Certainly a very valuable garment in its day considering the high cost of such imported fabric.
