Description: Scarce book about the traditional folk costumes of Cieszyn region with primary emphasis on the embroidered bodices of the region called “zywotek”. The book consists of a text section followed by a collection of 42 plates with photos of these antique Silesian corsets. As the book was published in 1930, all of the examples presented come from the 19th and early 20th century and highlight the wealthy ornamentation of these elaborate garments. There is wear and tears to the covers, but given the age and scarcity of this publication it is in exceptionally good condition.
