Description: Scarce book about the traditional folk costumes of the Wisla highlanders of southern Poland. The Wisla highlanders, namely women, wear a version of the Cieszyn costume that was influenced by the urban fashions of the town of Cieszyn. The Wisla highlanders adopted numerous elements of this townsfolk dress, but also developed their own style with original elements not seen in the clothing of Cieszyn town. Men wear a more traditional highlander costume common in the Silesian mountain region.
