Description: Beautiful museum album about the traditional folk costumes of the Hutsul land in western Ukraine. The book, which accompanied a large museum exhibit in Lodz, Poland, is the result of ethnographic research field conducted in Ukraine between 2008-2011, together with cooperation from the National Museum of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya Folk Art in Kolomyya, Ukraine. The exhibit presented nearly 500 objects related to Hutsul costume from both museums, many of which are reproduced in this book, along with dozens of photographs taken in the field showing the contemporary use of traditional costumes and recent developments in local fashions. An exceptional publication.
